Expeditions

Scientists - individually or in groups - are invited to submit drilling proposals online to the Science Support Office at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography/University of California San Diego. Drilling proposals must correspond to the scientific topics of the International Ocean Discovery Program Initial Science Plan.

The drilling proposals will be evaluated by the Science Evaluation Panel and, if approved, forwarded to the Environmental and Safety Protection Panel. The Facility Boards use the pool of successful drilling proposals to plan future IODP expeditions.
