Since 2011 BGR has been actively engaged in the mineral raw materials sector of Lao PDR, within the framework of the German development cooperation. The aim is to improve the governance of mining operations through the Laotian mining authorities.
In a new project starting in 04/2021, BGR will support the Laotian mining authorities on the national and regional level in measures of capacity building and through organisational and process consulting. The focus of these efforts will be on safety and environmental protection in mining.
